Many people say that they are real skaters, but in fact they don’t even know how to ride. Such people are just posers. For them, skateboarding and the whole skate culture is just a fashion, they have no interest in skating. Most posers often talk about what tricks they can perform, but they are almost impossible to see rolling on the board. Many posers are quite good at misleading others about their skills, but if you know what points to pay attention to, you can easily distinguish a poseer from a real skater.

We check basic knowledge

For a poseur, a skate is just a skateboard, while a skateboard has as many as 5 elements. And among there are no words “board”, “rollers”, “wheels”. If the examiner cannot show where the skate base is and confuses influenza with the deck, this is a shame in front of you.

Ask him: does he prefer regular or goofy? These are the two main skate racks - the first thing you learn when riding. The amateur may not know how one is different from the other, and indeed it will not be in the subject, what kind of animal is this “goofy”? And you will most likely immediately notice his confusion.

For a real skater, his skate is a full member of the family. He knows everything about his favorite board: where he bought it, under what circumstances, who the manufacturer is ... and if he himself assembled it from individual parts, then this is generally considered very cool, and for a skater such a circumstance is a matter of special pride. If a grief skater does not know what material his skate is made of, this is a pose.

Skateboarding is not just a hobby, but quite a serious sport. So, a true skater will not only tell you about a dozen professional skateboarders, but also argue why, for example, he likes Tony Hawk's skating more than Ryan Scheckler's tricks.

We watch the actions

A true skater will not hold his board by the wheels, “mole grab” is unprofessional. Either beginners or posers do this, for which a skateboard is just a cool accessory that meets the spirit of modern fashion.

If you met him in the park, then by how much time he devotes to skating, the purpose of the visit will become clear. A real skater will methodically hone his skills; he usually doesn't give a damn about the surrounding social infrastructure. The classic poseur will flaunt, smoke, delve into the phone or just stand idle most of the time, periodically performing a couple of simple tricks for the sake of visibility.

You can even make a knight's move and ask for a completely insolent pose to show an allie or a front side. A real skater will never refuse to demonstrate what he can do. Poser, on the contrary, will come up with a thousand reasons not to do this, simply because he does not know how.

Evaluate the appearance

Just as scars adorn a real man, so are abrasions and scratches - the essential attributes of a real skater. Even experienced guys seek to hone their skills or learn something new, so falls are inevitable.

A real skater cannot have an ideal board unless it is new, of course. The skateboard will certainly be worn out and scratched, by the way, for different skaters in different places - this only speaks of the style in which he likes to ride and which tricks he performs more often. But most certainly a real skater will not save on buying a skateboard and will easily distinguish a fake from a branded item.

A real skater chooses comfortable shoes for riding and wears them until they fall apart. Posers, trying to be their own, often specially spoil their fashionable shoes, but artificial scuffs always differ from "all-holes". At least by the appearance of the material itself - if it shines like new, then the holes are not real!

Recently, in parks you can see skaters in special sports respirators. And here you will not immediately understand who is in front of you - a poseur or a true skater. The skateboard mask itself looks very modern and, as it were, completes the fashionable image of the poseur. You look especially cool in Respro models such as: Sportsta, Techno or City.

On the other hand, such a respirator for the city is a must. It contains filters that clean the dirty city of a metropolis before it gets into the lungs. A real skater knows that any physical activity activates the work of the lungs, so when riding you can absorb air 2-3 times more than with normal walking. And if the air is dirty, but it is dirty (that's for sure!), Then such a sport will do health more harm than good. I wonder how it turns out: a true skater and poseur are united by only one thing - the Respro sports respirator ...
